Objectives

Introduction

1- Research in various aspects of transportation, whether pure, or based on the needs reflected by the industry, and governments at different institutional levels.
2- Development of methodologies and models for engineers and practitioners in solving typical problems.
3- Educating students of transportation engineering and planning as well as employees of the sponsoring agenecies of the research projects, while doing the research to solve the problem.
4- Publishing scientific documents and reports for disseminating knowledge.

Development of transportation systems is a key element in the development of any society. Transportation affects, and gets affected by, the development of any city, region, and country. Thus, it is an important task to define and design a good transportation system for a changing environment, and have the transportation system change according to the changing needs and objectives of the overall system of concern. The Institute for Transportation Studies & Research (ITSR) has been established in 1994, following a period of over 10 years of experiment in transportation studies and research.
